About

The University Institute for Diplomacy and Regional Cooperation (UIDRC) was founded by Tel Aviv University and the Peres Center for Peace. Since the end of 2002, UIDRC has been operating as an internal academic institute of the University, focusing on research and discussion of diplomacy and regional cooperation issues. UIDRC is part of the Gershon Gordon Faculty of Social Sciences; due to the interdisciplinary nature of its work, it also works in cooperation with other faculties of the University.

Goals
  • Research in the field of diplomacy, including diplomatic history, international conflict resolution, and negotiation methods.
  • Research in the area of regional cooperation, including research based on records accumulated at the Peres Center.
  • Holding conferences, colloquia, seminars and advanced studies on the topics of diplomacy and regional cooperation.
  • Publishing original research in UIDRC's fields of interest.
  • Cooperation with the program of Diplomacy Studies and relevant programs in the Harold Hartog School of Government and Policy.
  • Developing cooperation with other similar institutes and with the diplomatic community, in Israel and abroad, including the Arab states.
